National Institute of Science Education and Research Institute of Physics Campus, Bhubaneswar

The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) has been setup at Bhubaneswar by the Department of Atomic Energy of the Government of India as a unique institution of its kind pursuing undergraduate and post-graduate education in science combined with frontline research. NISER is being setup in a sprawling 300 acre campus about 3 km from Khurda Road Railway Station on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar overlooking Barunei Hills. It will be a fully residential campus with modern living amenities including children's school and health centre etc. Presently the NISER is functioning from its own Academic Building of about 5000 m2 area within the Institute of Physics campus. It is expected to move to the main campus by the academic session of 2012-13. NISER invites applications for the following posts for appointment on Regular/Deputation/Contract basis.

Minimum of 4 years experience in teaching / research / lab infrastructure development after PhD in an educational institution of national repute.
Laboratory Operator	07 (UR – 04, SC – 01, ST – 02)	Pay Band – 1: Rs. 5200 – 20200 Grade Pay: Rs. 2000/- Initial Basic Pay: Rs. 8460/-	Not more than 27 years as on 30.06.2010	Bachelor's degree in Science with Physics/Chemistry/Biology with at least 45% marks. Work experience of assisting faculties/researchers/students in a Chemistry / Physics / Biology laboratory in an educational institution of national repute. Desirable: Diploma in instrumentation/Laboratory equipment handling or Computer application with proficiency in usage of office packages.
Driver (ordinary grade)	02 (UR)	Pay Band – 1: Rs. 5200 – 20200 Grade Pay: Rs.1900 Initial Basic Pay: Rs. 7730/-	Not more than 27 years as on 30.06.2010	10th Standard pass from a recognized school. Possession of a valid (LMV/HMV) Driving License. Knowledge of motor mechanism (the candidate should be able to remove minordefects in vehicle). Experience of driving a motor vehicle/car for at least 3 years

All eligible candidates should apply on the format available at www.niser.ac.in. The outer cover of the application should be superscribed by “Application for the post of “__name of post__” vide Advertisement No.“Rct./NA/01/2010”. Applications should be accompanied with a non-refundable demand draft as prescribed drawn in favour of "THE DIRECTOR, NISER" payable at Bhubaneswar towards application fee. Candidates are advised should write their name and post applied for on the backside of the demand draft. The completed application form along with attested copies of relevant certificates for qualifications, experience and age etc. in a sealed envelope must reach (by registered post only) to the following address on or before June 30, 2010.
